Indigenous People's Day was recognized and celebrated by the students & staff of Millis HS. The event was hosted in Millis HS's auditorium on 10/21/22. The HS auditorium was the perfect venue for a large student body to attend the celebration of this National holiday.
As keynote speaker, Andre StrongBearHeart spoke to students & staff members regarding Nipmuc culture, history, & current issues faced in the Indigenous community. Andre & Daishuan TallHairRedDeer encouraged attendees to participate in the traditional stomp dance fostering a sense of fun & unity during the event. There was 100% participation.
The smiles seen on the student's faces was a clear indication that everyone was having fun and enjoyed the celebration.
